Chevrolet's best-selling nameplate has gone electric. That's right; the Chevy Silverado is now available as an EV. While the world thought that this dynamic and highly-performing truck could not get any better, Chevy, in its commitment to progress, has found a way to make it better. Its electric makeover brings with it some changes that we think you will like quite a bit, and it is going to be more fun, more dynamic, and more capable than ever-not to mention healthier for our common environment. There are so many new features on the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV that we just can't wait to share them all with you. Because going electric really is a matter of technology, as it goes electric, the Silverado brings with it significant advancements in technology, particularly in charging capabilities and in-vehicle technology. But don't worry-the Silverado EV has all the power and capability that drivers have come to expect from Chevy's full-size pickup truck.

Going Electric
Electric vehicles have grown significantly in popularity, and justifiably so. But now, it's not just the technology that's popular; it's the model itself. The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV allows you to drive Chevy's best-selling nameplate with the excitement of an electric vehicle. The new Silverado excels in all departments: performance, capability, technology, and everything else you can imagine. The vehicle is coming in two initial configurations: the RST First Edition and the Work Truck (WT) fleet model. Both will be very exciting, so whether you are using your new Silverado EV for recreation or for work, you'll be in for a treat. Chevy has produced the finest in electric vehicle technology for the new vehicle, and with that come some (very welcome) exterior changes.
Exterior ChangesÂ
In order to host the astonishingly high-performance 24-module Ultium battery pack, the body of the Silverado has undergone a makeover, making it look even bolder and more capable than ever. To begin with, the Silverado EV will be offered exclusively in Crew Cab models with a shorter overhang. Aside from enhancing forward visibility, this overhang increases the aesthetic of the exterior by adding to its strength. The front end has been redesigned to direct air down the body, reducing turbulence and drag. Because of this, the WT is projected to have one of the lowest drag coefficients of any full-size pickup truck, which contributes to its impressive 400-mile range.
Of course, exterior changes often manifest themselves inside as well, as is the case with the new Silverado EV. The second row of seats was pushed back, meaning that the rear passenger experience will be much more comfortable, especially for taller passengers. Additionally, these rear seats are designed with a 40/60-split, allowing for more dynamic storage within the cab of the vehicle itself. The bed, too, has upped its game as the 5-foot 11-inch bed is available with a Multi-Flex Midgate passthrough between the cabin and the bed. When open, the midgate provides over nine feet of storage with the tailgate up. So, storage will be no issue at all on this new Silverado EV.
The Ultium Platform

Incredible PerformanceÂ
The Ultium Platform truly is at the heart of GM's zero-emission EV strategy. Built from the ground up on the new platform, the Silverado EV features a 24-module Ultium battery pack, which gives the vehicle astonishing range, estimated at 400 miles on a full charge; those are Silverado numbers right there. Speaking of Silverado numbers, the iconic nameplate certainly does not lose its astonishing performance capabilities by going electric; on the contrary, they are increased.
The Ultium Platform allows the truck up to 664 horsepower (more than a 240-horsepower increase from its traditional 6.2L V8) and 780 pound-feet of torque in Wide Open Watts Mode. The result? A 0-60 mph time of fewer than 4.5 seconds. What's more, the vehicle's chassis has independent front and rear suspensions for greater comfort, and when the power is transferred to available 24-inch wheels (on the RST), the standard e4WD system will tear up the road.
The four-wheel steering capabilities make the Silverado EV more easily maneuverable in tight spaces and more stable at higher speeds, so you will have a much easier time steering this new vehicle. In an exciting twist, the presence of Automatic Adaptive Air Suspension on the RST trim allows the vehicle to raise or lower by up to two inches. So to those who are having a hard time parting with your old Silverado's gas or diesel engine, rest assured that this EV is a worthy successor.
Simple and Quick ChargingÂ
The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV's impressive Ultium Platform will have the Silverado performing at levels you have never seen before. In order to keep you on the road enjoying its exciting performance features, the 2024 Silverado EV must offer convenient charging. This is made extremely easy due to its in-vehicle capabilities and its connectivity to charging stations. Both the RST and WT trims feature high-voltage DC fast-charging capabilities of up to 350 kW; in other words, you can add 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes. That's something to get excited about. The Silverado EV is also able to charge other EVs and power electric devices, so you'll be able to share the power with others as well.Â
The Silverado EV hits the market at an excellent time; due to the increased popularity of electric vehicles, there has been a correlated increase in public charging stations. But, because they are not yet quite as common as gas stations, Chevy helps drivers gain not only easy access but efficient access to chargers. The Energy Assist feature in the myChevrolet Mobile App helps drivers plan routes that are energy-efficient while trailering so as to save power and have easy access to chargers. Additionally, the RST offers Ultium Charge 360, which is GM's holistic approach to EV charging that includes access to more than 100,000 public charging points in the United States and Canada. Chevy is on top of making sure that your Silverado EV is well-charged at all times. It makes sense, seeing that the company has been a leader in electric vehicle technology from the start, and it certainly continues that legacy with the amazing electric vehicle engineering of the new 2024 Chevy Silverado EV. Â
TechnologyÂ

The Evolution of Technology
The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV is going all-out with technology. Not only is it increasing its technology features, but it is evolving them, making them more adaptable to drivers' ongoing needs. To begin with, a 17-inch LCD infotainment touchscreen takes its home in the front of the vehicle, giving the driver and front passenger easy access to all of the convenience and entertainment features that drivers have come to expect. These 17 inches of display also make for a sleek interior. The infotainment screen is complemented by an 11-inch driver information system, combined with a 14-inch driver head-up display. Drivers of the Silverado EV will not be hurting for information while on the road, and you will be more in touch with your vehicle than ever before due to this increase of information.
Increase is the theme of the new Silverado EV: an increase in environmental-friendliness, an increase in performance capabilities, an increase in space, and an increase in technology features. But, it is not just the increase in the size and number of screens that is exciting; it's the adaptability of the software powering them as well.
Cutting-Edge Software Design
Silverado EV drivers, meet Ultifi. This brand-new software was developed in-house by Chevy and is separate from the vehicle's hardware, allowing them to update it with great frequency and give drivers the most advanced technology available as soon as it comes out, without having to purchase a new vehicle. The Silverado has always been a leading model, and now it will be consistently leading its drivers with over-the-air updates to make sure that they are always driving at the optimal level. Chevy has always been dedicated to progress, and this is a huge stride forward. Now progress will not just take place from vehicle to vehicle, but will allow a vehicle to evolve with the times. Just when you think Chevy couldn't go any further, they do.  Â
