Impressive Capability

Fuel efficiency, all-weather capability, and towing capacity are all important features when you're looking for a compact SUV. The good news is that the 2023 Chevy Equinox LT offers all three. Plus, its upgraded standard engine gives it a slight power boost compared to last year's Equinox models. 

This model comes in standard FWD and optional AWD. The FWD Equinox LT gets slightly better fuel economy than the AWD model, making it a good choice for urban commuters. However, those who plan to travel in adverse road conditions or spend a lot of time on rural roadways should strongly consider the AWD Equinox LT. 

Upgraded Power

The 2023 Equinox LT has the same 1.5-liter turbocharged I-4 engine as usual, but the engine has been upgraded to reach 175 hp. The I-4 engine still offers the same 203 lb-ft of torque as the 2022 model, but the extra horses make the new model year a bit quicker. The Equinox LT's brakes are also upgraded and improved for 2023, with E-boost electric power assist. While this model is not designed specifically with towing and hauling in mind, it does offer reasonable towing capacity ratings for the average driver. The Equinox's maximum towing capacity is 1,500 lbs. This is enough power to haul small campers, fishing boats, trailers, and more.

Technology

The 2023 Chevy Equinox LT comes with several tech features. First off is the Chevy Infotainment 3 System. It includes a standard 7-inch multi-color display, Bluetooth connectivity, and an available navigation app. You can access Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via the Infotainment 3 System, along with customizable user profiles. This is also where you'll access the available Wi-Fi hotspot, vehicle settings, and more. You can even download specific apps, including everything from sports to the weather, simply by accessing the "apps" section and searching for your desired application. 

The Infotainment 3 System is also compatible with Chevrolet Connected Access. Drivers who subscribe to any of the Chevrolet Connected Access plans can easily access their features via the Infotainment 3 System. This works no matter which plan you choose, from the basic Remote Access plan to the fully-loaded Unlimited Access + Safety & Security plan. 

You can upgrade the Chevy Infotainment 3 System's screen size to 8 inches by adding the new Safety and Infotainment Package to your Equinox LT. This new package also adds features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, a heated steering wheel, and a 360-degree camera system. It will also enable the infotainment system's built-in navigation. 

Comfort and Convenience 

The 2023 Chevy Equinox LT has a comfortable cab with 39.9 inches of back seat legroom--more rear legroom than other vehicles in its class. In addition to exceptional rear legroom, the Equinox LT includes an eight-way power driver's seat with two-way lumbar control, Active Noise Cancellation, and a Multi-Color Driver Information Display. 

OnStar Capability 

OnStar is a subscription service that offers both safety and convenience technologies to provide peace of mind for drivers. The new Equinox LT comes with a three-month OnStar Safety & Security trial, which includes the four following benefits:

• Automatic Crash Response - Vehicle sensors can detect a crash and automatically indicate the crash's severity. Information is sent to an Emergency-Certified Advisor and then communicated to first responders. No driver or passenger input is needed. 
• Stolen Vehicle Assistance - OnStar technologies can remotely block the Equinox LT's ignition, send a theft alarm notification to your smart device, and even slow the vehicle down so that police can apprehend the perpetrator. 
• Roadside Assistance - Access 24/7 Roadside Assistance features. Whether you get a flat tire, run out of fuel, or find yourself lost, contact this service for help. 
• Emergency Services / Crisis Assist - For accident or non-accident-related emergency services, drivers can always hit the red "SOS" button for instant assistance.

Safety

Exceptional Standard Safety

Safety is important no matter what type of vehicle you choose. Chevy knows this, which is why it includes Chevy Safety Assist as a standard feature. Chevy Safety Assist includes the following six technologies: 

• Forward Collision Alert - Monitors the area ahead and can warn you when a front-end collision is possible, giving you time to brake. 
• Automatic Emergency Braking - Can automatically stop the Equinox LT or enhance the driver's braking at speeds below 50 mph. Works directly with Forward Collision Alert to help prevent front-end collisions. 
• Front Pedestrian Braking - Works similarly to Forward Collision Alert but monitors pedestrians, not vehicles. Also works at speeds under 50 mph and is most accurate during daylight. 
• Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning - Helps keep the Equinox LT centered in the appropriate lane. It will send alerts when you start to unintentionally drift into another lane. 
• Following Distance Indicator - Detects and displays the time gap between your vehicle and the vehicle that's in front of you. This is designed to help prevent tailgating. 

All six Chevy Safety Assist technologies are standard on the 2023 Equinox LT trim. No additional packages are necessary. You will also find standard Teen Driver Mode, OnStar Availability, and more

Teen Driver Mode

Parents and guardians know how important it is to properly monitor teen drivers. Thanks to Teen Driver Mode, you can better observe your teen's driving habits. This feature includes a "report card" that displays important information: how fast your teen has driven, how many times they've activated driver assistance features, and much more. It also lets guardians choose audio volume limits and cap the vehicle's max speed. 

Teen Driver Mode includes seatbelt technologies like "Buckle to Drive'' and "Seatbelt Audio Mute." If the driver isn't wearing a seatbelt, Buckle to Drive disables shifting into drive for up to 20 seconds. Visual and audible "buckling" alerts will continue after the 20 seconds are up. Seatbelt Audio Mute disables any audio--radio, streaming services, and even phone calls--until the driver and front passenger seatbelts are secured. 

Additional Safety Features

Other standard safety features include a Theft-Deterrent System, Tire Pressure Monitoring, and a LATCH system for child seats. The 2023 Chevy Equinox also includes a standard rear vision camera. You can add additional safety features to the new Equinox LT for an extra price. These include Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, which both come with the new Safety and Technology Package.
